Jack Whittaker is well known lottery winner from West Virginia. He won the 315 million worth lottery on Christmas 2002, believing that it was God’s deed according to his religious nature. But, having in mind what happened in next years in his family, it seems to be deed of the Satan. Short after the win he was arrested for drunk driving. Thieves broke his car later and stole 545 000 dollars from his briefcase. A year after he was arrested again, this time for threatening life of bar manager. Finally, his granddaughter and his daughter were found dead in his house.

2. Jeffrey Dampier

Jeffrey Dampier won the 20 million worth Illinois Lottery Prize in 1986 and started giving gifts to all people he knew: houses, cars, exotic trips and whatever they could want. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for his sister-in-law. She and her boyfriend kidnapped Jeffrey in 2005 and shot him in the head. Now they are in prison and will stay there until die.

3. Billie Bob Harrell, Jr.

Billie Bob Harrell, Jr. is another religious and honest man who had the luck to win the lottery. He received 31 million from Texas Lottery in June 1997. He was giving his money to whoever needed: friends, relatives, church… In twenty months after winning the prize he was broke and committed suicide. Shortly before it he admitted to his financial advisor that having the winning ticket was the worst that ever happened to him.

4. Willie Hurt

Willie Hurt won 3.1 million dollars in the Michigan Lottery in 1997. He was married, had children and winning that amount of money could make his life comfortable forever after. But, he was charged in attempted murder, got divorced, lost custody of his children, spent all of his fortune in the divorce and cocaine. All that happened in only two years.

His life story was very sad until 1988 when he won the Pennsylvania Lottery Prize, worth 16.2 million. His life was set to change in a good way. That happened, but Bud went too far. He bought cars, houses, speed boats, even an airplane. He was broke within months, claiming that he was much happier when he was without a dollar.

7. Ralph and Mary Stebbins

Ralph and Mary Stebbins were happily married couple from Michigan who won amazing 208 million dollars Lottery Prize in 2005. They didn’t lose their minds and tried to make life comfortable. They paid off all the debts, bought a farm and cows, and had nothing to worry about. 20 months later Ralph was accused for attempted murder of his daughter’s boyfriend and died two months after.

8. Suzanne Mullins

After five years she owed a lot, making her ask for loan from financial foundation. Eleven years later shoe owed over 150 000 dollars, blaming costs for her son-in-law medical bills.

She started spending her 18 million in different educational programs, political organizations and community services. She had the honor to dine with Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Korean President Kim Dae-Jung. Nevertheless, the source of money dried and she had to file bankruptcy.

10. Alex and Rhoda Toth

Alex and Rhoda Toth won 13 million dollars from Florida Lottery back in 1990. About 15 years later they were living in miserable conditions, without regular electricity plug in their home. They were charged for tax evasion, but only Rhoda was sentenced, as Alex died while waiting the trial.
