1. Barracuda Point, Sipadan Island

Sipadan Island is the only Malaysian oceanic island. It’s only a small dot on the map, but once a diver gets there, it becomes a big thing. The reef is world famous because of its incredible beauty and extremely rich marine life. The island is a living coral rising 600 meters above the sea level, with Barracuda Point as its most famous diving site. As the name says for itself, barracudas can be seen here, but also turtles, horse-eye jacks and sharks. It is not recommendable for amateur divers because of the strong currents.

Although Caribbean islands are not as clean and wild as before due to the development and the pollution that follows, this island in West Indies is different. Only 200 people populate it, so the water is extremely clean and the view is excellent. Although there are not many fish to see as on the other sites on the list, it’s still worth visiting because of the warm water and easy diving conditions.

There’s no need to explain too much why Maldives are beautiful islands as it is world wide known vacations destinations, but also an amazing diving site. North Male atoll and South Ari atoll are just two of the wonderful opportunities for a close look on sharks, turtles and a million different of tropic fish.

South Africa’s coast is well known for the great number of sharks and that’s enough for adrenaline seekers to visit Rocktail Bay. Whale sharks and Tiger sharks are more usual in this cool water bay, but there are a lot of tropical fish as well, some of them very rare. From November to February divers can witness leatherback turtles nesting along the sandy shores.

It is wide accepted that Polynesia is one of the most breathtaking places on the planet. Rangiroa is world’s second largest atoll, located on the edge of the world giving an impression of calm place. However, under the water it’s not so calm. When divers look at the amazing corals and colorful and rich marine life the adrenaline goes high. Grey reef sharks, Hammerhead sharks, manta rays and dolphins are just a little part of the adventure.

6. Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands

Located on the half way between Australia and Hawaii, Bikini Atoll as part of Marshall Islands is one of the most stunning but also unexplored diving sites. It’s inhabited due to radiation contamination, but the lagoon is populated with extremely big number of fish. Despite that, there are a lot of ships wrecked there, so it’s a heaven to wreck divers.

7. Kailua Kona, Hawaii

People who have seen Hawaii coast have had a great time, but those who have seen Hawaii underwater world have a tons of breathtaking images in their memory. There are a lot of incredible diving sites and Kailua Kona is one of those that offer night diving. There are light placed on the ocean bottom that gives a picture that is impossible to forget.

8. Red Sea, Egypt

The Egyptian Red Sea has wonderful turquoise clear water that is enjoyable to watch. However, the underwater experience there is way better. There are excellent site all over the sea, offering a great diversity of marine life that is impossible to miss due to the perfectly clear water. Despite the usual diving there’s an opportunity for wreck diving in Sha’ab Abu Nuhas.

9. The Blue Hole, Belize

Jacques Cousteau named it as one of the best diving sites in the world and that was enough to become world famous, which is well deserved epithet anyway. It’s a rare occasion to see a great number of different types of sharks in the crystal clear water. Some of them: grey reef sharks, bull sharks and hammerheads.

10. Great Barrier Reef, Australia

Located in Australia, this nature wonder is 1200 miles long and is almost impossible to lack anything that divers would like to see, whether beginners or advanced. World’s largest reef is populated with over 1500 species of fish and other water inhabitants. No vacation in the state continent is complete without reef visiting.
