10 Strange Political Ads

1. Carly Fiorina

According to the online community Carly Fiorina’s ad for United States Senate election in California 2010 is an absolute ruler when it comes to the weirdest political ads ever. When strange things like “demon sheep” appear in a political ad it could turn nothing else but a viral video, because of its weirdness, of course. The video ad depicts Fiorina’s opponent Tom Campbell as a demon sheep in attempt to bring him negative publicity with the slogan “FCINO: Fiscal Conservative in the Name Only,” but the whole success of the video was the laughter it made. Carly Fiorina lost the elections.

2. Mike Gravel

Mike Gravel had an enormous wish to run campaigns. After running for Senate and Vice President, the natural path of his electoral career led him to the Presidential elections. He tried his luck in 2008, but he didn’t win. As you know, he should tell voters why he should be elected, why he is better than others. Despite joining the Libertarian Party he made one more mistake – he remained silent.

3. Dwight McKenna

When two doctors run in the same campaign one of the things that you should expect is surgeries. Dr. Dwight McKenna’s team wanted to make advantage of Frank Minyard’s recent reputation as body parts seller, so they made an ad where Minyard id depicted as the famous Dr. Frankenstein. Minyard was pleading and demanded apology, but McKenna thought that his opponent was the one who owes people of New Orleans an apology for the alleged deeds.

4. Adriane Reesey

Adriane Reesey was a challenger for the office of Supervisor of Elections and wanted to create a cool ad (yes, she wanted to create, due to the low budget) that would catch voter’s eye. Knowing that Broward County, Florida, has problems with absentee ballots she decided to make a joke with it, but all she managed to do was a weird political ad in which most time was devoted to “outtakes.”

5. Brewster McCracken

In his ad Brewster McCracken emphasized his good work in the city planning of Austin, Texas. But he did it through insulting St. Louis, saying that he used much better model than the government of the once splendid city that has abandoned buildings now. McCracken was running for a second mandate, but despite his good job he lost the elections from Lee Leffingwell. Maybe people who abandoned St. Louis had moved to Austin, actually.

6. James Perry

New Orleans housing activist couldn’t resist entering into politics to accomplish his views, so he ran for mayor. His low budget campaign was full of some weird elements that didn’t help him. Those were some four letters words, like s*it and f*ck. While he explains who wants to be the next mayor, talking about his opponents, New Orleans citizens keep saying “What?!?!?! Are you s*itting me? Are you f*cking kidding me?” He lost the elections.

7. John McMillan

John McMillan is a lucky elections runner. He beat Dale Peterson in the primary round of the Alabama agriculture commission elections and now he has his support. That’s brilliant, but there’s a better part. Dale Peterson will hurt you if you don’t support his former opponent. The Vietnam veteran doesn’t talk much about McMillan, but has a gun and threatens the voters, so they don’t have to know much about him.

8. John Oxendine

Believe it or not, this is not an ad for Kim Jong Il from North Korea. He doesn’t run campaigns at all, actually. The guy who glorifies himself in the video is John Oxendine, a GOP gubernatorial candidate from 2009. In the spot he is an ox, as it says “strong enough to oppose the special interest, graceful enough to care for the people,” while his opponent Roy Barnes is a rat, representative of “liberal, anti-business and anti-education.”

9. Rudy Moise

It is obvious that Rudy Moise wanted to get closer to younger voters with this video. Luckily, the creators remembered make a banner with his name that appears in several occasions, otherwise voters would never know who the good and honest doctor is. The rappers with computerized voices are really hard to understand what they’re talking about.

10. John Hickenlooper

Unlike the most of the previously mentioned politicians who tried to get points on their opponents’ expense, which was done with outrageous attacks, John Hickenlooper decided to have clean campaign. He even took a shower to clean himself from the “evil in politiocs.” Fortunately, he kept his clothes on.
