Nineteen people dressed as Santa Claus hit the waves on their surfboards in Cocoa Beach, Florida, to welcome in the Christmas holiday, setting the new world record for the Most Santas surfing at the same time.
57-year-old Rockledge surfer George Trosset organized the Santa “surf fest” for the second year in a row, although he went surfing alone as Santa Claus last year.

“It’s just to have some fun,” Trosset told Florida Today. “It makes me happy that we might put a smile on some people’s faces as we spread a little Christmas cheer.”
The air temperature was about 65 degrees and the water temperature in the 60-something range when the group start surfing on their boards Christmas Eve.
“These are excellent conditions for surfing,” Trosset said. “They’re not so good if you’re in a Santa suit and have a beard and funny-looking hat.”
The organizer said he may submit the outcome to Guinness World Records, even though it’s unclear whether the famed record-keeping organization would consider 19 surfing Santas a category of its own.
However, these surfing Santas didn’t care about breaking records, they were just out to have a jolly good time. They hope the event will grow every year.
