Are there codes in the Bible?
Popularized by the book “The Bible Code,” many people have been able to decipher certain words from the Bible. Using the Equidistant Letter Sequence – basically choosing a starting letter and only counting the letters after a certain skip number – people have found that certain words were spelt out. These decoded phrases are supposedly able to illustrate prophecy and determine the future.
Where is the Garden of Eden?
While many believe Eden to be figurative, there are also many who believe that such a place really does exist. There are hints in the Bible of the Garden’s location: the Bible indicates that Eden is near Ethiopia. Somewhere in the one million squared kilometres of the country, this Garden used to exist. This picture of Ethiopia really is beautiful, could it possibly be the Garden?
Who was Jesus’ beloved Disciple?
A fascinating mystery in the Bible: who was the beloved disciple? This person leaned on Jesus during the Last Supper and was the only disciple to have witnessed Jesus’ crucifixion, although his identity is never clarified. Some scholars say that the Beloved Disciple was John, the final author of the gospel. Others dispute this, arguing that John’s background as a fisherman meant it was unlikely he would be able to write in the elegant Greek used in the Bible.
Who authored the Gospels?
A lot of biblical scholars questioned the fact that supposed authors were the actual authors. Many think that the author must have been someone who only knew the apostles. This mystery was not even considered until the 18th century but now, many question the true authors of the gospels.
Where is Noah’s ark?
Those looking for the Ark had one clue from the book of Genesis that “the Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat” which is located in Turkey. There have been attempts to use satellite images and expeditions to look for this massive thing but so far, only pieces of wood suspected to be parts of the ark have been found. In 2006 an expedition concluded that Iran was considered the resting place for the Ark after discovering an object a size of a small aircraft carrier 13,000 feet above sea level. Unfortunately, these discoveries are yet to be proven true. The search continues.
