If you’re staying at a hotel you’d expect to find a Bible, perhaps a min bar, and toiletries in your room, right? What would you do though if you discovered something a little more out of the ordinary? Well, with geckos, prosthetic limbs, a baby and a horse among the list you’re about to discover 10 of the weirdest findings in hotel rooms.
1. Geckos

A resident at a hotel in Cozumel, Mexico heard a strange noise and went to investigate where it was coming from in the room. To their bewilderment they found screeching geckos as the source of the noise. When the resident went to complain to management, the response was even more bewildering. Apparently the geckos were doing the hotel a service by eating all the bugs that would otherwise flourish! Talk about customer service.
2. Money (Lots of Money!)
Staff at the Marquis Reforma hotel in Mexico City came in for a very pleasant surprise when they discovered a guest had left behind the small fortune of 100,000 pesos (roughly $10,000). The money was hidden in a cereal box and was found in the safe that was in the room. Much to their dismay though, the owner of the fortune came back to claim it not long after.
3. Horse

Yes that’s right. Someone managed to smuggle a horse into their hotel room. Not just any old horse either, but a showjumping horse. How they managed to get the animal past staff and other stayers in the hotel (based in Droitwich, Worcestershire, UK) is baffling. Even more baffling though is the fact that they left the horse behind to the shock of the cleaners!
4. Suitcases Full of Wigs and Glasses
Another British hotel, another bizarre item left behind by a guest. This time it was two suitcases filled with wigs and collectable replica celebrity specs, such as those worn by Elton John. The guest may have been a celebrity impersonator, who knows? If they were, then how they were going to work without their accessories? Either way the person never claimed them back. A truly weird find.
5. Stuffed Crocodile
Imagine the scene: cleaner comes to tidy a room after a guest has left; she gets her cleaning equipment ready outside the door so she is prepared to get straight to work; she opens the door and to her immediate horror is greeted by a terrifying six-foot crocodile! Recovering enough just in time before she suffered a heart attack the cleaner realised it was stuffed. The question still goes unanswered though: how the hell did the person get this thing past reception?
6. Baby
I know what you’re thinking. Taking a pet with you to a hotel and forgetting it is one thing, but your own baby? Surely not? Surely so in this case. The parents were late for a flight and had so much luggage with them had to take two seperate cabs. It was only when they met again at the airport did they realise they didn’t have their baby with them! They each assumed the other had had the child with them.
7. Artificial Limbs

A leading British hotel group has revealed that artificial limbs is one of the most common items left behind in hotel rooms. How did they leave, physically, without their prosthetic limbs? Was the one left behind a spare? Surprising is the first word that springs to mind.
8. Corpse
In the UK staff made the grisly discovery of a human corpse in a cupboard in a hotel room. The likelihood is that the tenant who checked out shortly beforehand may have had something to do with it. A police search was carried out straight away. Talk about grim!
9. Marriage License

This is definitely no way to start marriage !!! The original certificate was found by the cleaning staff in the Hyatt Regency Columbus. The certificate was quickly returned to the newlyweds. No word as to whether the pair has since left their wedding rings behind.
