The creators of South Park have apologized for lifting dialogue from Inception parody from CollegeHumor. The South Park episode titled “Insheeption” and the Web short “Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception,” parodied the complexity of the language from the film “Inception” and both featured the same line, “Sometimes my thoughts of my dead wife manifest themselves as trains.”

Upon the episodes release, CollegeHumor clip’s co-writer Dan Gurewitch, noted several similarities between “Insheeption” and his own Inception parody video “Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception,” which he posted to the CollegeHumor website on August 2.

“We thought their joke was that a lot of those lines were actually in the movie, and they were banging them against each other, and showing that the Inception characters didn’t even know Inception. That was a mistake, and it was an honest mistake.” said South Park creator Matt Stone. “It is just because we do the show in six days, and we were stupid and we just threw it together. In the end, there are some lines that we had to call and apologize for.”

Gurewitch said that their apology was accepted and that all is forgiven. The creators of both Inception parody plan to meet together when they’re in New York.
