How to survive a free fall from a high altitude

1. Use parachuting position to reduce your speed

This step is only for those who fall from a plane – otherwise you will not have time for this. With his stomach and his face turned down towards the ground, stretch out your arms and legs. Tilt your head back, have your arms parallel to each other pointing straight forward, and bend your knees slightly, all as illustrated above.

2. Try to find an optimal landing

Although this step is absolutely the most optimal for you if you fall from an airplane or similar height.  I think that we dont need to tell you that you should avoid rock or concrete.  Among the best possible conditions for landing, we find deep snow, deep water (like a current, or gushing), undulating lawns .  Forests or areas with thick vegetation is also beneficial, although the risk of being impaled is more striking here.

3.  Control of your selected landing site

If you fall from an airplane, you have usually about 1-3 minutes for you before you hit the ground. Plus you have the time to horizontally move up to 1.86 miles.  either way. From skydiving position that I described above, you can control the body forward by stretching your legs and bend back the shoulders and arms, and back by extending your arms and bend the rear legs. To turn left, bend your body to the right, and press the right shoulder, and opposite to turn right.

4. Land feet first, and knees bent


Chances of survival increase if you meet the case of the feet ( the feet and legs should  take the worst hit,  leaving your torso and your head relatively intact), and are directed according to research 36-fold more secure if the collision to the ground with bent knees as shown.

5. Relax

Although this point may seem most difficult to achieve in a situation where you look forward to rapid death. Is it really so vital that it must not be forgotten?  If your muscles are tense, the power of shock when you land more easily transferred to your internal organs than if you are relaxed.

6. Try to roll on landing


Instead of landing straight into the ground, it is many times more effective if you roll on landing.
