NBR Gives ‘The Social Network’ Four Awards, Including Best Film of 2010 !!!

'The Social Network' picked up four awards from NBRThe National Board of Review named The Social Network the Best Film of 2010.

Beside this one, the film picked up three more awards: Jesse Eisenberg won best actor for playing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, “The Social Network” maker David Fincher picked up best director award, and Aaron Sorkin won for best adapted screenplay.

The film won critical praise and earned over $180 million worldwide at the box office.

Annie Schulhof, NBR President said she expects “The Social Network” will “stand up over time and appeal to many generations.”

“With ‘The Social Network’ you had very strong elements that were very much appreciated: the direction, the writing, the acting, its great storytelling,” she said. “That spoke to the very diverse landscape of the National Board of Review.”

The National Board of Review also named Lesley Manville best actress for playing a tipsy single in the British film “Another Year.” Christian Bale won best supporting actor for his performance in the boxing drama “The Fighter,” while best supporting actress went to Jacki Weaver for her role in the Australian drama “Animal Kingdom.”

Best Documentary: “Waiting for Superman,”
Best Foreign Language Film: “Of Gods and Men,”
Best Animated Feature: “Toy Story 3,”
Best Ensemble Cast: “The Town,”
Breakthrough Performance: Jennifer Lawrence for “Winter’s Bone,”
Debut Directors: Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington for “Restrepo,”
Spotlight Award: Sylvain Chomet and Jacques Tati for “The Illusionist,”
Best Original Screenplay: Chris Sparling for “Buried,”
William K. Everson Film History Award: Leonard Maltin,
Special Filmmaking Achievement Award: Sofia Coppola for writing, directing and producing “Somewhere,”
NBR Freedom of Expression: “Fair Game,” ”Conviction” and “Howl,”
Production Design Award: Dante Ferretti for “Shutter Island.”
