“The King’s Speech” Garnered Most Golden Globe Nominations !!!

With seven nominations, “The King’s Speech,” the British historical drama about King George VI’s efforts to overcome stammering, led the nominations for Golden Globe Awards.

The film garnered the most nominations for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards. The seven nominations are: best actor for Colin Firth, best picture, best supporting actor for Geoffrey Rush, supporting actress for Helena Bonham Carter, best screenplay, best director for Tom Hooper and best original score.

Closely following the British drama in the nominations are boxing drama ”The Fighter” and the story of the creation of Facebook ”The Social Network,” that are up for six awards each.

Johnny Depp picked up two nominations, as best musical or comedy actor for his role in new romantic thriller”The Tourist,” and in the film adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice in Wonderland.”

Also, musical TV show ”Glee” picked up five Golden Globes, including Best Actress and Best Actor in a TV series, Comedy.

The 68th annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 16, 2011. It will be hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais and telecasted on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
