Winners of 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards !!!

Colombian singer Shakira and British rapper Dizzee Rascal opened this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, performing her latest single Loca and Waka Waka. Host Eva Longoria took to the stage and welcomed the crowd with a rousing “Viva Espana!”

First winner at the 2010 EMA edition is Ke$ha who won Best New Act against B.o.B, Jason Derulo, Plan B and Justin Bieber. Katy Perry won the award for Best Video for “California Gurls”. Justin Bieber beat Kanye West, Enrique Iglesias and Usher and won Best Male award. Best Live Act went to Linkin Park, while Best Hip Hop went to Eminem. Thirty Seconds To Mars won the award for Best Rock and received it from Miley Cyrus.

Lady GaGa won three prizes: Best Female, Best Song (for “Bad Romance”) and Best Pop. She accepted her awards from Budapest, where she is on tour. “I’m all the way in Budapest and I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there to accept this award myself but there are 20,000 little monsters out there waiting for me, so I have to hurry up and get back on stage. This means so much to me Europe, I love you.” Lady GaGa said.

The Bon Jovi band received Global Icon Award in honor of its entire career. Global Icon Award has been given for the first time in the history of the EMAs. “Thanks for making us icons,” Jon Bon Jovi told the crowd. “I want to thank everyone at MTV for this unbelievable ride over a quarter of a century. We’re still doing what we do and we’re doing it well.”

According to MTV, Bon Jovi has sold more than 125 million albums, performed over 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries to 35 million fans and were the number one touring act in 2008.
